Papers must include a work cited page. Do not use Wikipedia as a source as that website is not a reliable research site. Anyone can change the information on there.
? You must have a cover page.
? You must have an abstract page. An abstract page is a one paragraph summary of your paper.
? Your paper should be approximately 3-5 pages in Times New Roman 12 point font with 1-inch margins. Double space. APA format.
o Do not overdo indentations, and large spacing in between paragraphs.
o Cover pages, abstract pages, and reference pages do not count as part of the 3-5 page requirement. You will lose points if you do not meet the 3-5 page standards.
Provide an in-depth analysis of the topic. DO NOT summarize the chapter. DO NOT use an example from the book to base your paper on. For example, if the chapter discusses the Watergate Scandal, do not write your paper on this incident. Select a new theme that was not discussed in class or in the text.
Use themes and terms and concepts from the chapter to help you analyze the chapter. The point of the paper is to test your understanding of the terms and concepts studied and how it relates to the real world.
o Use current events to help you analyze the chapter. You need to write and analyze at least 3 current events and include additional sources as part of your topic.
The paper should address the following aspects of your topic:
o A brief summary of the issue you are targeting: what is the issue and how did this
become a public administration ?puzzle? (no more than one page).
o An explanation of why you think this issue is significant in public administration
today: who are the key stakeholders, what are the competing interests at work, what challenges do you see in solving this public administration ?puzzle.?
o A recommendation based on the your research, experience, and perspective that
you developed in assessing this ?puzzle;? what, ultimately, should be done in practice to help solve this puzzle.
