Her inaugural poem, ?The Hill
We Climb,? provides hope for the future; however, this impending future will be
determined by our actions. She implores us to ?step out of the shade? as there is ?always
light if we?re brave enough to see it? and ?if we?re brave enough to be it.?

We have spent this semester reading a vast and varied array of literature whose authors capture and convey a myriad of sentiments concerning the complexities of living in America.

Step 3: Write your letter to America. The format and content of this ?letter? will be entirely determined by you. You may write a traditional letter, a poem, or a short story/fable.
Your ?letter? should be 650-700 words minimum. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a zero.
Step 4: Follow the directions for submitting your assignment:

1.Submit your letter as a Word document in eCampus. No other formats (i.e. PDF?s, Google Docs, Pages, etc.) will be accepted. You can access Word via your Dallas College email. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a zero.

2.Be sure to save your ?letter? per the directions below (Note: These directions are also provided in eCampus). Failure to meet this requirement will result in a zero.
